For K-Lo at The Corner, Logic Is a Foreign Language

If Obama could go to Germany and give a speech in English and be not only understood but well-received, why does he say we all need to learn another language?
Well… that’s sort of the point, K-Lo. Germans understood Obama when he gave a speech in English because they all learned English in school. Obama gave the speech in English because he’s an American and English is the only language he can speak.
If Europeans refused to learn English the way Americans refuse to learn any foreign language, then no American politician or government leader could ever speak anywhere outside the United States, Canada, England, Australia, or New Zealand and be understood.
