Tracking Polls – Not Keeping Up

I find this item having a curious sentence at the end which is

Gallup’s tracking poll is based on daily telephone interviews with no fewer than 1,000 American adults across the country in the run-up to the November 4 election.

Why does Gallup rely on a telephone interview, and I’m assuming a landline telephone, when so many people only have a cell phone?  At least half of our friends have only a cell phone, including Mrs. Chief and I.

So I have to wonder how accurate the Gallup poll is, if it is, in fact, based on a landline telephone.

Anyway, I hope Gallup is way off.

UPDATE:

And according to McClatchy, this election won’t even be close.  They are using the “L” word.
