Comes this shocking (and even after 8 years of Bush/Cheney this IS shocking) story which perfectly exemplifies why I have nothing but disgust for businessmen. This is even worse than the denial of claims for damage done by Katrina.

An insurance company with a potential $25 million liability from a 2007 Houston office fire is claiming smoke that killed three people was “pollution” and surviving families shouldn’t be compensated for their losses since the deaths were not caused directly by the actual flames.
And the way most folks, including the Ol’ Chief, see it
“The purpose of a pollution exclusion is not to not cover people who die from smoke inhalation in a fire,” Baker said. “I would hope they (the insurers) lose this.”
Of the hundreds of comments, I thought this one says it all,
This is exactly the reason companies need to be regulated. Oh thats right, de-regulation is what Republicans wanted. I forgot that Insurance companies are businesses, and that they should never be regulated. People need to realize that these insurance companies can give a rats a** about your life or death as long as they can make a profit. Besides, its the “Great American” way.
I’m not sure if this is just Texas or Republican, but I tend to think it is Republican. What do you think ??
