Off-Hiatus – Temporarily
I see this at RawStory about the junior Senator, Rand Paul, from KY:
“I looked at some of the writings of this young man,” Paul told Fox News’ Bret Baier Sunday.
“From a medical point of view, there is a lot to suggest paranoid schizophrenia, that this man was a really sick individual,” he said of Jared Loughner, the man suspected of shooting Giffords.
Senator Paul is a a self-certified ophthalmologist. I have seen no psychiatric training or certifications (perhaps he is a self certified psychiatrist /snark). Another MD that tries to impress because he thinks he has all the answers. Fer cryin’ out loud, the alleged shooter is not a patient of his. The gleanings from postings on the web may or may not be his and if they are, we have no idea how old he was when he posted them.
Senator Paul kind of reminds me of another senator, ex-Majority Leader Bill Frist from Tennessee, when he was diagnosing Terry Schiavo’s condition via video tape.
Diagnosing, actually attempting to diagnose a medical condition via video tape or rantings on YouTube is wildly irresponsible. And these are “serious” people..
Way to go Kentucky.
