The Day The Music Died
For those of you old enough to remember, 3 February, has some bad memories.
I was in Basic Electricity School at the Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, IL and we got the news on a week end morning. Probably on the morn of 4 Feb.
On 3 Feb, a small single engine plane crashed. Buddy Holley, Richie Valens and J.P. Richardson (a.k.a The Big Bopper) and the pilot were killed. Three rising stars snuffed out. Waylon Jennings was supposed to have been aboard the plane but got bumped. Lucky him.
