Inaugural Invocation

There is nothing new I can add to the commentary regarding the announcement of  Pastor Rick Warren to give the Inaugural Invocation.  Below is the email that I sent to Senator Feinstein who is the Chair of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

I am so disappointed with the selection of Pastor Rick Warren as the person selected to give the Inaugural Invocation.  After all the good will President-elect Obama has generated with his intelligent selections for cabinet level appointments, this one choice has undone that good work.

I am extremely disappointed that you and the President-elect apparently have such a low regard for the gay and lesbian community.

Copied from a Comments From Left Field post by mattbastard are these telephone numbers for Senator Feinstein.

LA: (310) 914-7300
SF: (415) 393-0707
DC: (202) 224-3841

My attempts to reach her DC office at 0915 were met with overloaded phone lines.  Maybe that is a good sign.  I did get through at 0930.

Click here to contact Feinstein via email.  Remember to keep it civil.

Great idea to do this, Chief!

It seems to me that if the P-e wanted to make a conciliatory gesture that is meant to signal to Americans that he intends to be the POTUS of all Americans, he could have done so without this slap in the face to a group that faithfully supported him.
