“It goes without saying” is an old cliche.  And I am not going to use it here.  But every once in a while I do get a wee bit upset when I see some entity grabbing defeat out of the jaws of victory.  And once on a blue moon I break my self imposed rule of never using any stronger language than, “I’m really pissed off.”

I am more than “pissed off.”  I am fuckin’ well disgusted at the Democrats in the United States Senate.  They have for a year had at least a 59 – 40 numerical superiority.  But they can’t pass a health care bill that will help out the middle class.  And they can’t even get to a vote on climate change.  And ‘fugetabout’ any financial protection legislation.

Where is Harry Reid’s spine?  Where is the Majority Whip’s (Dick Durbin) spine?

Force the Repubs to stand there hour after hour, day and night, to read the phone book.  A mere threat of a fuckin’ filibuster causes Reid, Durbin and the rest of the Dems to scurry for cover?  Why?  What are they afraid of?

When the new senator from Massachusetts gets sworn in, the Dems will be back to a 59 – 41 majority.  Change the rules.  Get rid of the filibuster.  Be the hero that saves the damsel in distress as the locomotive is about to make mince-meat out of here.  Stand up for the union worker, stand up for the $9/hour big box worker who cannot unionize, stand up for the American dream.

Bottom line, Dems in the U.S. Senate, is that if you don’t stand up for the American people now, they won’t be standing up for you ten months from now in the mid-terms.
