Roseanne

I record and then watch at least part of Democracy Now with Amy Goodman every day.  On Monday, 25 Jul the only guest to appear was Roseanne Barr. The forty minute segment was not enough except to whet my appetite.

Well, that appetite may be satisfied as

“If you were wondering where Roseanne Barr had wandered since she closed down her sitcom, the answer is a macadamia plantation in Hawaii.  Now Lifetime has filmed 16 half-hour episodes of her life out there.

Roseanne’s Nuts is as thoroughly an entertaining and satisfying half hour as I have spent in many-a-year in front of a TV set.

The first episode I saw was Episode 3, about Roseanne’s conquering her fear of singing the Star Spangled Banner in public.  I saw two fifty-something ladies (Roseanne and Bonnie Bramlett) in all their glory and with a few warts.  But it sure beat the heck out of seeing an unreal size 3 twenty-something with a loud laff track.

Episode 5 is on this evening at 9 eastern on Lifetime.tv
