Another 5 – 4 SCOTUS Decision
People talk of the partisanship and politics on the U.S. Supreme Court. It is always about the 5 – 4 decisions that are taking us back to the nineteenth century. Most often spoken about is Citizens United and Bush v. Gore all leading up to what is the expected decision of unconstitutionality of the Affordable Care Act.
We often neglect to mention Ledbetter v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co, a 2007 decision with the same 5 ruling for the corporations and the 4 ruling for the people.
Justice Ginsburg delivered an impassioned dissent from the bench, which I cannot seem to find.
