I Know This Is Wednesday

And that this info is already two days old (forsooth).

In the Monday, 18 June edition of The Daily Standard of Celina, Ohio and all of Mercer County we have this lead headline, above the fold

Mercer County

Sales tax collections up

by Shelley Grieshop

Wallets are opening a little wider these days, giving local officials reason to smile.

Sales tax figures in Mercer County are up 7.4 percent or $148,719 this year over last year’s numbers.  June’s data shows an increase of 7.9 percent over Jun 2011.

. . .

The county has recorded 25 consecutive months of sales tax increases, county auditor Randy Grapner said.

And if we listen to Rmoney, the economy is going to hell in a hand basket.
