Price of Gasoline

Not only at the ‘town hall style’ debate on Tuesday but at other places, I keep hearing that the price of gas was $1.80, $1.83 or some other low figure when Obama took office  And that may be true.  I suppose one could find the price of gas on 20 Jan 09.

But, I am re-reading October 2006 issue of “Dune Buggies and Hot VWs”   Bill Bowman writes a regular column in the mag titled “Transporter Talk” about what I call the VW bus.

Anyway, concerning the price of gas, he says, “The price of a gallon of gasoline had just passed the three dollar mark in the Midwest, and everyone seemed to be reeling from the increase in their fuel budget.”

Looks to me as if the high price of gas occurred on W’s watch.
