Some Horrible Things

There are some thing Molly will never worry about.  For the record, Molly is our nine-year old herding-mix mutt.

But, today Mrs. Chief & I ran across a situation.  We accompanied an adult grandson with his three children, of whom he does not have custody, just visitation, to Children’s Services.

We were waiting in a lunch room type place while he was being interviewed.  A case worker comes in and sits at a table with a six or seven year old boy.  A second case worker sits down with them.  The conversation goes like, they are going to take him to where he lives and pick up his clothes and his brother.  A third case worker joins them.  The boy is assured that this third lady is one of the good guys.

Somebody has to work in places like child services, but these folks see the worst society has to offer.  I don’t know if I could work in that type of environment, day-in and day-out.

Molly sure is a comfort to the ol’ Chief.
