Or as Colonel Potter would say, “Horse hocky!”

This, from the WSJ Online, is disingenuous, at best.  Since at least 1953, the United States has backed a series of right-wing dictators.  And that is not even counting Chiang Kai-shek and what happened in China post WW2.

Karzai is just another Pashtun who is enriching himself at the expense of the Afghan peasant with U.S. dollars.  And while those dollars may not be worth as much today as they have been, tens-of-millions of them will still buy a lot of personal security.

The United States should not be backing any horse in this race.  the United States should pull all of it’s troops out of Afghanistan.
